Adventures

Had surgery on my leg, doctors were convinced I had a tumor and had prepared me to be ready for radiation, but in the end, after all tests were done, all I had to take was the pain killers! Huge relief!!!

After that, I decided that since I didn’t have to go see the doctor any more or have any treatments, I would surprise my best friend and fly to Boise for her birthday weekend. I had convinced her that I wasn’t able to make it because I was having the stitches taken out of my leg. But low and behold…I flew in, had a mutual friend pick me up, and made a surprise appearance at the Cheesecake Factory. It was awesome.

Spring Break: Easter we went and spent the weekend with my grandma. Monday I drove to Spokane, hung out with some friends there, and flew out Wednesday for my other vacation, the one where my co-worker and I won a trip to Missouri. While she, another coworker, and their 8 kids piled in a car for a road trip, I just decided to fly over and meet them there! I wish I had the pictures on this computer, but understand, Missouri isn’t just for old people, we found an awesome theme park with lots of things to keep us all occupied.

Bloomsday: Bloomsday Baby. My sister in law, a friend, and I hopped in the car, made the trip across the state and hung out in Spokane for the weekend and ran Bloomsday. Now, before my surgery I had been training for bloomsday, but once I was able to walk again I never got back into training, so this was my first “run.” I thought we were going to walk a mile, jog a mile, but boy was I wrong! We pretty much ran the whole thing, besides the hills…I couldn’t walk for the next two days!

And that is just a quick overview of my exciting life.

The start of the season

The basketball season is officially underway! The varsity girls were off to a pretty rough start but tonight pulled out a big win, 42-40, making us 1-2. My JV team though is really stepping it up, we're 2-1 after a loss to a 2A school. My girls are still refusing to dive after a loose ball AND they don't box out!!!!! After the game on Saturday (the one we lost) I asked why they wouldn't box out, and their reply...."Because they are all sweaty and smell bad." I couldn't believe it, for once in my life I was speechless. What do you say to that!? Anyways, today I bribed them and said if you go after 10 loose balls and get over half the rebounds then I'd buy them ice cream. They attempted to rise to the challenge but didn't quite succeed. I'll keep bribing them, whatever it takes for a win!

In other life news....

Thanksgiving was eventful, sorry no pictures, blame my cousins who has yet to send them. We went to Endicott, played some Settlers, went to visit my great aunt in the hospital, went to the movie Twilight, ate a lot, visited some Spokane friends, hot tubed, and went to Heather's bridal shower.

I paid off my credit card!!!

My poor car will hopefully make it though this month! Water leaked in, my dad had to pull out the seat and pull up the carpet. We had to let the fan run for 3 days to dry it all out. Some belt had to be replaced, and now it only starts when it wants to. Not to mention, I'll be driving down the road and the lights will turn on and off whenever they feel like it, awesome.

I joined the Twilight book series bandwagon. I'm ashamed. But I can't help it, I'm on the 3rd one and wish I had more time in my day to read...thank goodness it is almost Christmas Vacation.

My brother and cousin Jared are both deployed right now. Karl flew into Iraq to drop off supplies to one of the bases and it was the same one Jared is stationed at. They were able to meet up and say HI for a good fifteen minutes. I think a friendly face was good for both of them, as well as just being able to see a family member. Anyways, please continue to keep both in your thoughts and prayers.

Anyways, so much more, but another long day ahead of me tomorrow. Good night!!

Revolve Tour

Last weekend I got to make a trip back to good ol' Spokane. While there I met up with some of the YFC gang, took a group of teenage girls to the "Revolve Tour," and spent some quality time with my good friend Heather!

Check out the revolve tour website to learn more about it if you have a group of teenage girls that need to be reminded that they don't need a boy to be happy and to be reminded they don't need to settle. Anyways, I enjoyed my time in Spokane and really enjoyed seeing gas under $2.00!!

On a side note, I started helping out with the basketball program at TBS. I'm not going to lie, I haven't been this sore since my high school basketball days. But let's also look on the bright side, I haven't fully lost all my speed. My competitive side is still there...I don't like to lose. I came in second during the sprints yesterday but you better believe I stepped up to the plate today and brought home a win:) I've been put in charge of the conditioning, and you better believe we are going to have FUN.

The Beach

I went to California a few weeks back. It was quite the adventure. I was lame and didn't carry my camera around much, except for the first trip to the beach. But whatever, I like to look at them and think "warmth."

We were in a flood warning here all day...Super. Tis' the season.
